LSU is in danger of becoming the Buffalo Bills of women's basketball -- a really good team that can't quite win it all. Standing in its way is defending champion Tennessee, which boasts one of the more decorated players in college basketball, Candace Parker, who is perhaps best known as the first woman to dunk in an NCAA tournament game. Parker dislocated her shoulder twice in the region final against Texas A&M, but has been cleared to play against LSU. The Lady Tigers also have a player who can dunk: Sylvia Fowles, a 6-foot-6 all-American center and one of five senior starters. The teams have met twice this season: LSU won, 78-62, at Tennessee during the regular season, then Tennessee beat LSU, 61-55, in the SEC tournament final. LSU, which held North Carolina nearly 40 points below its scoring average in the region final, can stop the most potent offenses. To advance, the Lady Tigers must find a way to generate offense.
