The following incident was reported by the animal control section of the Fairfax County Police Department for this edition of Local Living. For information, call 703-246-2253.

Dog locked in car: Conference Center Dr., 15000 block, 1:15 p.m. March 15. Animal control responded to a report of a dog locked inside a vehicle. The dog was removed from the vehicle and its owner, a 59-year-old Norfolk man, was charged with providing inadequate shelter. The dog was not injured.

Fairfax City

The following incident was reported by the animal control section of the Fairfax City Police Department. For information, call 703-385-7924 or go to www.fairfaxva.gov and click on “animals” under “list of services.”

Dog bite: Bradwater St., 3900 block, March 22. A Doberman pinscher-type dog being walked by a man bit a female pedestrian as she passed them. The woman did not initially realize she had been bitten and didn’t obtain any information about the dog or its owner. Anyone with information is asked to call 703-385-7919.

Adoption clinic: The Fairfax Animal Shelter will hold an adoption clinic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 7 at the Town and Country Animal Hospital, 9836 Fairfax Blvd., Fairfax. 703-385-7919.

Vienna

The following incident was reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Unleashed dog struck: W&OD Trail at Maple Ave. SE, 2 p.m. March 16. A bicyclist struck an unleashed dog and fell off his bicycle, sustaining minor injuries. The dog’s owner fled with the animal.
