Kevin Richards and Kristine Berman, who led the federal and state lobbying arms of the Washington technology trade association TechAmerica, are leaving their posts for SAP America and Hewlett Packard, respectively.
The move comes as TechAmerica is looking to integrate its international, federal and state lobbying units — which had previously been led by three senior vice presidents of government affairs — under one umbrella. The association is now seeking to fill a global public policy position to oversee about 30 advocates worldwide, who are split between Washington, Brussels and a dozen U.S. states, Richards said.
Richards, who is based in Washington, will start at business management software firm SAP on Aug. 26. Berman, who works out of TechAmerica’s Silicon Valley office, will join HP’s government relations department today as global government relations lead of the enterprise group business unit. Both SAP America and HP are member companies of TechAmerica.
