Lou Lou, Dupont Circle's new accessory boutique, is not a large store -- but it's jampacked with wares. Racks of soft, sheer cotton scarves hang beside a rotating display of Ray-Bans. Shelves of leather Hobo International and Latico satchels and totes are next to trendy faux-leather carryalls. Then there's the jewelry: colorful enamel bangles, dangly earrings, faux-pearl studs, pendant necklaces. And other accompaniments: green leopard-print umbrellas, fuchsia fedoras, feathered headbands, studded belts.

Purdey is the gun of choice for purists who like to bag their grouse or buck in high style. Pick your analogy: It's the Steinway or Rolls-Royce of the hunting set....

Here came the noise, the gut-shaking roar of Rolling Thunder, motorcycles by the hundreds upon hundreds throttling along Constitution Avenue NW past the Vietnam Veterans Memorial yesterday as thousands more bikers lining the street cheered and revved their engines on a cloudless, summery afternoon. Like the Fourth of July fireworks on the Mall, like the lightings of the National Christmas Tree and Menorah, the deafening growl of Harley-Davidsons on Memorial Day weekend has become a holiday tradition in Washington -- a gathering to...

By now, fashion has had a several-seasons-long dalliance with leather this, exposed-zipper that, and studded ... well, everything. This season is certainly no exception. But some designers -- with Haider Ackermann and Susan Dell of Phi leading the pack -- took the style in a fresh direction. Deftly blending a ladylike sophistication with a biker-babe edge, today's looks are still (mostly) black, still zipped up and chain-wrapped, but they're also refined, with polished shapes, classic styles and a more restrained approach to...
