BEIJING — China's product safety agency says General Motors Co.'s main Chinese joint venture is recalling Cadillac SUVs to correct a problem with nuts that hold their wheels in place. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said Friday that Shanghai GM will recall 2,653 imported Cadillac SRXs. Illegal immigrants could obtain Maryland driver's licenses under a measure the General Assembly sent to Gov. Martin O'Malley on Friday, and that aides said the governor supports. The measure , which passed the House of Delegates 82 to 55, would reinstate and expand a program that allowed some immigrants to obtain licenses prior to 2009, when it was ended so Maryland could conform to a stricter, federal rule on IDs. Maryland lawmakers, however, voted to repeal that decision.

OCEAN CITY, Md. — Ocean City Police say an officer and another person were hurt when a motor scooter rear-ended the officer's patrol vehicle. It happened about 2:15 a.m. Monday on Coastal Highway at 41st Street. Police say the officer was stopped at a traffic light when a scooter operated by 25-year-old Edward Thomas Johnson of Salisbury crashed into the rear of the patrol vehicle. FRANKFORD, Del. — Delaware State Police say a Dagsboro man has been killed when his car hit a tree. It happened about1:30 a.m. Friday on DuPont Boulevard. Troopers say 37-year-old Anthony Jacono Jr. was traveling north when his car began to fishtail and spin. The vehicle drove into a median and hit a tree.
